On Saturday, September 13, over 40 artists, many nationally known, will be painting on location during the day on Chincoteague and Assateague Islands.
“En Plein Air” literally means “open air”. These works of art can be done in any medium - oil/acrylic paint, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, or pencil. What they have in common is that they are all done on location, with the artists portraying the scene in front of them.
In the evening their works will be exhibited and available for sale. Come to a reception at Comfort Suites to meet the artists and enjoy some savory & sweet treats.
Proceeds of the sale benefit the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance, the non-profit arts group that sponsors the Second Saturdays Art Stroll.
