In June of 2006 I was able to take the trip of a lifetime and go on an artists' retreat. Several of my Virginia artist friends joined up to go visit Valentia Island. It forever changed our lives..... Now,  I've made several trips back, 4 in summer and once in late winter.  The rugged beauty of this place has inspired a turning point in my work.

Whether it's my own small garden or a large public garden park, I am always grateful have these places in my life.

These 'little treasures' are small works done plein air or alla prima (outdoors or all at one time). They are part of my daily painting routine (see www.dailypainters.com).  They are usually small studies done for a larger painting, or reference material for future use. These are usually sold unframed.

Flowers and objects that make up the details of life in our homes have such personal meaning.....and are simply a pleasure to  our senses.

Favorite local animals, pet portraits & other noble or not so noble beasts. Yes, I do take commissions for pet portraits.
