You and Me in France next June 2019!
Have you ever daydreamed of living in France? And painting....and being a painter in France? While it may not be in the cards for you to pick up and move to France permanently, for ten whole days next year, you can do this!
What? You say you can't draw or paint? That's why I'm there, I can teach you. Even if you haven't made an attempt since grade school when Miss Gulch told you to "give it up". If you already have painting experience, allow me to be your guide and mentor to grow your skills.
I've been invited to teach in France next year - 2019 June 1-10th are the dates. My friend Lisa Statkus's travel & paint business is: Lisa's Gryphon Art and Travel https://www.lisastatkus.com
I met Lisa during a 2013 workshop in France where she was working on the staff at another art travel business (and she bought one of my oil paintings during that trip). At that time she was in the process of establishing this business.
Our location is in the beautiful and inspiring Lot Region of France where we’ll be staying in a lovely chateau. This is the area I had traveled to in 2013 and I've been wanting to return ever since!
On your art holiday, you will stay in one of the loveliest areas of France, the Lot region. Your home-away-from-home will be a lovely chateau on the River Lot, in a tiny village full of charm and history. Your hostess is eager to provide you with a true immersion experience of the beautiful areas, often acting as our personal guide to the best-kept secrets of the regions. Your meals are expertly prepared regional cuisine and wine is included.
As you all know, I've been teaching in Ireland for many years now, and it's time to fit in some additional places. Anyways, this region of France is my favorite- ohhhh sooo lovely! I'm so excited to return and bring home a sketchbook full of beautiful memories (as the oil paintings from my previous trip have sold and gone to their forever homes). Some of the beautiful nearby towns and villages are:
Saint-Cirq Lapopie- cliffside village - one of the MOST beautiful places in France.
Peche Merle (cave paintings, you should see these cool horse images)
Tarn - where there is the Musee Toulouse Latrec and the Musee Les Arts du Sucre et du Chocolate
Cordes-sur-Ciel - medieval town on top of an isolated knoll- what a striking scene! There's also a wonderful garden here, Jardin du Paradis, made up of garden rooms that flow into each other...lots of great ideas to take home for your own garden (and for us to sketch here)!
Cahor - market day where we'll pick up provisions for our picnic lunch on the River Lot.
The village of Saint Antonin Noble Val - a star! most recently the charming backdrop of the movie, "The Hundred Foot Journey" with Helen Mirren.
****Anyway- you get the picture- it is SO lovely, I've been aching to get back there and would LOVE to have you join me if you're able.
Bringing home a sketchbook of watercolor paintings is a lovely record of a trip that you'll treasure forever. You'll have memories that are meaningful to YOU. I do hope you can join me in this adventure!
*******If this is something that interests you, and may be a likely possibility that you are able to go, you can take advantage of "early-bird" pricing that Lisa is offering on our trip through June 30th. That's the end of this month...so don't let it slip by - it's a pretty substantial discount ($600) which you could apply to air fare!! The sign-ups have begun and we have started to fill the spaces, of which I have six! I'd hate for you to be disappointed and miss out on this experience. Here is the link for our travel site:
