The best value in a workshop is getting to spend time with your instructor. Not only in a group setting, but as an individual. Over my years of teaching, I’ve learned to make this my ‘super-power’. To not only meet with the individuals during the workshop to help and encourage; but at the end of the workshop, meet with every. single. individual privately in a one-on-one session to talk about areas to focus on (and how to improve on our perceived weaknesses) and brainstorm with you on the next steps to take in your personal painting goals.

I have had students who have gone on to meet many of their artistic aims - show their work in local and regional art shows and galleries; start selling their work; write, illustrate and publish their first book and more. I’ve watched their skill levels and confidence grow - and that is one of my biggest delights! I’m so proud and elated for every one of them.

My travel workshops are the perfect vehicle for this opportunity. We get to spend ten days together in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Our setting is relaxing and perfect for providing time for learning, painting, touring nearby towns and cities, (and eating wonderful Italian food of course), as well as basking in the glow of supportive new friends. I have the gift of time to spend with you to help you conquer your painting fears, frustrations and doubts; and become a competent and confident watercolor painter. No other class format gives you this type of access to deep training in such a short time span.

I hope you will join us in our September workshop. Our home where we stay in Italy is a wonderful farmhouse built in the beginning of the 16th century. Over the years it has been enlarged several times. Situated on the slope of a hill about 10 meters from the village of Contignano, it offers a magnificent panorama of vineyards and olive trees. Today it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
