Open Studio Day at Chateau Orquevaux as an Artist in Residence
July 27th is my last day at our residency. I’ve got a short video that Ron filmed for me yesterday evening - the night before our final day, where all the residents host an ‘open studio’. There are eighteen artists here right now - so there is a lot to see. It’s incredibly exciting, and emotional. Each of us has used this time to grow in our work…and it shows! It’s like a miraculous transformation. It feels that way for me any ways!! (I think others would agree!).
I have so much to share with you from this experience, but I’m going to send this out first, while I mull over everything. I’m hoping to integrate all that I learned into my daily practice of painting. I’ve found some working methods that I really love, paint colors that I can’t live without, and more that I’ll share in the upcoming posts. I’ve been home a few days now…and I’m still getting back into the groove at home!
Keep on painting, friends! Let me know if you have particular questions regarding the ‘Art Residency’ experience!!
